The schedule of group lessons may be subject to change for organizational reasons.

Group courses are activated with a minimum of 3 participants. If there are only 1 or 2 participants in the chosen course, group lessons will be converted into 15 semi-individual lessons or 10 individual lessons per week. The maximum group size is 10 participants.

To assess your starting level, we ask you to complete our placement test. The test allows us to determine which class is right for you. On the first day of lessons, you and the teacher will confirm that the class level is appropriate. If it isn’t, you can move up or down to the class that best suits your level.

Our courses are designed for adults aged 18 and over. In recent years, the average age has been 35. The age of participants can vary greatly depending on the time of year and the type of course. Our students particularly appreciate being together with people of different ages and nationalities — this makes the experience truly engaging and the atmosphere open and lively.

The most represented nationalities are generally North American, British, German, Japanese, and Australian.

The school is located at Piazza degli Strozzi 2, on the 4th floor. It’s in the same building as the Giunti Odeon bookstore, on the corner of the square next to the Odeon Café Bistro. We are in the heart of the historic center, just a 10-minute walk from Santa Maria Novella train station. If you live outside the city center, you can reach the school by tram, bus, or bicycle. If you live in the center, you can easily get here on foot or by bike.

For morning courses, please check in at the school office at 9:00 a.m.; for evening courses, at 5:45 p.m. The staff will welcome you and provide all the necessary information and materials.

The textbook (or textbooks for long-term courses) is provided by the school and included in the enrollment fee, as well as all the materials your teacher will give you — including a notebook and a pen.

All classrooms and common areas have free Wi-Fi access. Before and after your course, you can use the classrooms (if available) or the common areas to study, work, or relax with your laptop.

At the end of the course, the school issues a Certificate of Attendance. Students who need or wish to obtain an officially recognized certification of Italian language proficiency must take an exam valid for this purpose on the dates set by the certifying institution. Students can take the CILS exam at our school on the official dates established by the University for Foreigners of Siena.

The school offers three activities per week, held in the afternoon, evening, or over the weekend. These activities are led by our teachers and collaborators, who are experts in various aspects of Italian culture. They’re a great way to explore and immerse yourself in the city of Florence and its surroundings, make friends, and practice the Italian language. In addition to our organized activities, if you’d like help planning the rest of your free time, we’ll be happy to assist you at no extra cost.

Reaching each level takes on average at least 6 weeks of an intensive course. However, there are many variables to consider — how much time you dedicate to studying and practicing the language, your knowledge of other foreign languages, how close your native language is to Italian, your motivation, etc. — so it’s impossible to give a precise answer.

For example, while B1 level skills can generally be reached in 18–24 weeks, achieving the advanced B2 level skills may take up to 48 weeks of intensive study.

Students coming from non-EU countries may need to apply for a study and/or tourist visa. For all the necessary information, we recommend visiting vistoperitalia.esteri.it and contacting the Italian Consulate or Embassy in your country of residence, as the requirements vary depending on your country of origin.

Once you have gathered all the information, if you are eligible to obtain a study visa through one of our Italian language and culture courses, you can proceed with your enrollment, and the school will provide the documents required to meet the visa application criteria.

In case your study visa is denied, upon presentation of the official refusal from the embassy, the school will refund the payment made, except for the €60.00 enrollment fee.

Please note that the school is not a real estate agency and therefore cannot rent accommodation to students. Our service is simply a free assistance program to help you find suitable housing. This service consists of suggesting available accommodation options that match your needs, which you can choose to accept or decline — such as a homestay room, a room in a shared apartment, or an independent apartment.

Payment for the accommodation and the related contract must be made directly to the owner or hosting facility. If the student prefers to make the payment through the school, a 22% VAT will be applied in accordance with current regulations.

The €60.00 enrollment fee is non-refundable under any circumstances.

If the course cancellation is communicated more than 15 days before the start of the course, the school will refund 75% of the amount paid.
If the cancellation is communicated between 14 and 8 days before the start of the course, the school will refund 50% of the amount paid.
If the cancellation is communicated less than 7 days before the start of the course, no refund will be issued.

Once the course has started, no refund will be made for irregular attendance or withdrawal from the course. In case of withdrawal due to force majeure, the student will receive a voucher valid for 24 months.

Please read the cancellation policy carefully in the Terms and Conditions (art. 3).

In group courses, missed lessons cannot be made up. If you need to cancel a private lesson, you can reschedule it as long as you inform the school at least 24 hours before the start of the lesson. Otherwise, the lesson will be considered completed.
