Where? In Villa Bardini, Costa San Giorgio, 2

This exhibition brings together the most striking images of one of the greatest masters of the contemporary photography exhibiting for the first time in Florence. In this exhibition you will be able to appreciate a collection of the most significant images of the last 40 years of work of this American artist. A symbolic journey through humanity and through a life full of experiences and emotions, passing by countries like India, Afghanistan, Burma, Japan and Brazil.

Certainly, in this exhibition the portrait of the Afghan girl won’t be missing. The girl with the big green eyes and the sad look, Sharbat Gula, photographed by McCurry in the Peshawar refugee camp in Pakistan. A photograph that has become a world icon for its beauty and naturality.

They will also be present in this exhibition, the black and white images that were the starting point of his brilliant career. These photos were published by newspapers all over the world and will make you live the refugees overwhelmed by the “coup d’etat” in Afghanistan.

This exhibition has a lot to offer, 100 wonderful works of art in a suggestive location, nothing better for a hot weekend of July!
